Sue Seu Yee Lau was born in Honolulu on Jan 9, 1929 and passed away on Nov 9, 2019 in Burlingame, CA.
Sue was candid, independent and adventurous during an era when girls were taught to be otherwise. She boldly ventured and travelled solo around the world before marrying her love, Albert Kim Fat Lau, and starting a family, who she was fiercely devoted to.
The same cleverness and keen instincts that helped her navigate the world also sharpened her business acumen as a bank teller and then as a business owner. She started her career in a flower shop, and her love of flowers continued all throughout her life. She would light up with joy in their presence.
What made her really special was the ability to share her life through the many stories she would tell. They were so vivid and descriptive, that you felt you were actually there. She loved to sing, play the ukelele and piano, but above all laugh.
She had a magical way of embracing everyone with her kind, generous, and loving nature, and strangers would quickly become friends. Sue, and her indelible spirit, will be greatly missed by her husband Al, children Leidyne, Lei Lynn and Khan, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Thurs, Nov 21, 2019 11AM at Kaneohe Veterans Cemetery.
